Assistant Store Team Leader (ASTL); Full-time

Description & Key Responsibilities:

As Assistant Store Team Leader at Pet Supplies Plus, you're a critical part of the team and the people and pets, our neighbors, the team serves. A strong candidate will need to be Neighborly, Knowledgeable, Trustworthy and Pet-centric!

• Partnering with Store Team Leader to learn and reinforce the PSP standards and daily management routines that make our store the favorite pet store in the neighborhood
• Adhering to operational policies and procedures (cleanliness, animal care, safety and security) that ensure exceptional service is provided to our neighbors
• Providing direct leadership coverage and management functions when Store Team Leader is offsite
• Manage and support alongside the Store Team Leader to achieve performance objectives including neighbor satisfaction, driving sales, productivity, product presentation, payroll, inventory management, etc
• Identify, interview and recommend hiring new team member talent and assist in team member scheduling
• Assist with new team member onboarding and development, manage, and motivate team and celebrate successes!
• Role model for other team members and not afraid to jump in to lend a hand if and when needed
• Seeks out and builds partnerships within the community with animal related groups and neighboring businesses and communicate, organize events within the community
• Utilize computer programs to maintain all necessary documentation and ability to create, maintain and track proceeds and expenses
• It’s pets; Love what you do!

Assistant Store Team Leader will have:

• Good communication and organization skills
• Love of Pets (please don’t apply if you don’t like pets!)
• Retail experience is preferred but not required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills is preferred but not required
• Ability to operate all equipment - including a forklift- to run the store is important, as well as being able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds (that cat litter can be heavy!)
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, have reliable transportation, and be 18 years of age or older

Pay: $38,672.32 - $46,573.12 per year
